The FN Model 24 Mauser, produced by Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Belgium, is another variation of the Mauser 98 rifle designed for export markets. Introduced in the 1920s, the FN Model 24 was chambered in several calibers, including 7.92x57mm Mauser and 7x57mm Mauser, depending on the customer's specifications. It was widely adopted by nations in Europe, South America, and the Middle East, with large orders going to countries such as China, Turkey, and Iran. The FN Model 24 is known for its excellent craftsmanship and reliability, characteristics that were standard for FN-produced firearms. Its action was smooth, and it proved to be a highly accurate rifle. Many of these rifles were used in conflicts such as the Chinese Civil War and various Latin American revolutions, cementing their place in 20th-century military history. Total production numbers are estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands, with many variants produced to meet different international requirements.
