The M1909 Argentine Mauser was an upgraded version of the M1891 Mauser, designed to meet modern standards and improve upon the earlier design. Chambered in the same 7.65x53mm cartridge, the M1909 featured a stronger receiver, an improved safety mechanism, and a more durable stock. It was produced in Germany by DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken) for Argentina, with production totaling over 200,000 rifles. The M1909 served as Argentina's main service rifle during the early 20th century and saw use in various conflicts and military actions. Known for its ruggedness and reliability, the M1909 was eventually phased out as newer semi-automatic rifles became available, but it remains a prized collector's item due to its craftsmanship and historical significance.
