One of our most compelling areas of focus is on the "liminal spaces" of military history—especially the transformative late 19th century. This era marked a dramatic shift: railroads and telegraphs redefined logistics, while brightly uniformed soldiers marched into battle with bayonets and swords in a world increasingly dominated by machine guns and breech-loaded cannons. 	M1892 French Berthier	The M1892 Berthier bayonet was developed for use with the French Berthier carbine, featuring a slender cruciform blade and a locking ring. It was widely issued during World War I and later conflicts, known for its ruggedness and compatibility with various Berthier rifles.
	M1866 French	This was the bayonet for the Chassepot rifle and had a Yataghan-style blade. It played a key role in the Franco-Prussian War.
	M6 Bayonet	The M6 bayonet was created for the M14 rifle and resembles the M5, with a longer crossguard and different locking mechanism. It had a brief service life before being replaced by M16-compatible bayonets.
	M4 Bayonet	This U.S. bayonet was intended for the M1 Carbine and had a knife-style blade with a leather or plastic handle. It was widely used in World War II and the Korean War.
	M1905 Bayonet	This U.S. bayonet was originally designed for the M1903 Springfield rifle and later adapted to the M1 Garand. It had a 16-inch blade and was used extensively through World War II.
