The Daewoo Precision Industries USAS-12 is a fully automatic, gas-operated combat shotgun developed in South Korea in the late 1980s. Designed for military and law enforcement, the USAS-12 was built to provide automatic shotgun fire in a durable and ergonomic platform, using either a 10-round box magazine or a 20-round drum. Weighing approximately 6.9 kg, the USAS-12 is a robust weapon designed for high-capacity, close-quarters fire, making it effective in urban and tactical scenarios.

Production of the USAS-12 was initially handled by South Korea's Daewoo Precision Industries before manufacturing rights were licensed to RAMO Defense in the United States, aiming to expand its market to U.S. law enforcement and military. However, due to the weapon's high-powered nature and classification under U.S. firearms laws as a "destructive device," widespread adoption remained limited. Although production figures are relatively modest, the USAS-12 saw use in certain specialized units, particularly in South Korea, where it was valued for riot control and breaching operations.

The USAS-12 gained significant attention in the public eye due to its depiction in films and video games, which showcased its intimidating design and rapid-fire capability. This media portrayal elevated its status as a fearsome combat shotgun, although its practical use has been restricted by legal and logistical challenges. Known for its firepower and distinctive look, the USAS-12 remains a symbol of heavy-duty military shotguns, drawing interest from firearms enthusiasts and collectors alike.
