The Ingram M10, commonly referred to as the MAC-10, was designed in the 1960s by Gordon B. Ingram. It was a compact submachine gun chambered in .45 ACP and 9mm, with an iconic boxy design. The M10's size and high rate of fire made it attractive for military and law enforcement use, particularly in close-quarters situations.

Adopted by U.S. special operations forces and some law enforcement units in the 1970s, the M10 was designed for simplicity and ease of production. Its use of a suppressor further increased its appeal for covert operations. However, its rapid rate of fire, around 1,000 rounds per minute, could be difficult to control without proper training.

The M10 gained notoriety due to its appearances in action films and media, where its small size and suppressor made it a symbol of power. It was also infamously linked to criminal use due to its availability on the civilian market in semi-automatic versions. Despite its issues, the M10 remains an iconic weapon of the 20th century.
