The 9 cm Kanone C/73 was a breech-loading field gun developed for the German Empire in 1873 as part of the ongoing modernization of its artillery forces. Designed by Krupp, the gun featured a steel barrel with a sliding block breech mechanism, a significant advancement over previous muzzle-loading artillery.
