The Bergmann M1910/21 pistol was a semi-automatic firearm initially designed by Theodor Bergmann and refined through collaboration with the Spanish firm Esperanza y Unceta, later known as Astra. Denmark adopted this pistol in the early 1920s, designating it as the "Pistol M/1910" for military and police use. It was chambered in 9mm Bergmann-Bayard (9x23mm Largo), a powerful cartridge offering excellent ballistic performance for its time. The design featured a simple blowback action, a detachable 10-round magazine, and a distinctive elongated barrel that contributed to its accuracy. Its robust construction made it highly reliable under harsh conditions, which was particularly valued in Danish service.

Production figures for the Bergmann M1910/21 in Danish service were relatively modest, as it was procured in limited numbers to meet the needs of Denmark's smaller armed forces. The pistols were primarily manufactured in Spain under license by Astra Unceta y Cia, with additional components produced locally in Denmark for maintenance and repair. Despite being overshadowed by other service pistols in terms of production volume, the Bergmann M1910/21 was well-regarded for its craftsmanship and effectiveness. It served alongside other handguns in the Danish arsenal and remained in use through the interwar period and into the early stages of World War II.

The Bergmann M1910/21 gained a reputation for reliability and durability in Danish service, although its notoriety was limited outside the region. Its performance in police and military roles highlighted its precision and ease of use, making it a favorite among Danish officers. During World War II, some examples fell into German hands following Denmark's occupation, where they were occasionally repurposed by occupying forces. Today, the Bergmann M1910/21 is remembered as a symbol of interwar Danish military history and is a sought-after collector's item, prized for its historical significance and engineering excellence.
